Behaviorist Evaluation

Jess has 6 years of behavioral modification and training under his belt and like most other canine behaviorists he has been passionate about dogs from a very young age. He specializes in behavior as he finds that this is where the majority of the human canine relationships fail. He is our trusted behaviorist here at Kindred Canines, he also does behaviorist work for a couple of other rescues here in the Central Valley.

Jess is now accepting public evaluation appointments. The reason for an evaluation is for Jess to better help you understand your dog/pack and to help you gain the knowledge and the tools to address the issues he finds. His goal is to give you what you need to be able to rehabilitate your own dog and if that is not a possibilities he is available for continued sessions.

These evaluation sessions generally take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours. During this time he will be watching and interacting with your dog or dogs, observing your interaction with your dog/dogs and telling you what he is seeing. I will be accompanying Jess so that I can explain to you what he is doing and also to video tape your dog if requested by you. Video taping lends a hand in showing you when to properly place a correction and what might be triggering the undesirable behavior. When we video tape the eval we take it home and go over it frame by frame. And then show you on your own DVD where to issue is being triggered, starting and where to correct it. This is often helpful for future reference when Jess has gone home.

Jess's fee is a private fee, not associated with Kindred Canines rescue however he will be donating 20% of his fee to our rescue as he himself is a huge part of what we do here.

Basic evaluation fee $40

Basic evaluation with video and dissection to show what he is seeing (given to you on DVD) $75

Continued behavior modification training is $25 per 1 hour session.

You might wonder why his fees are so much lower then other "trainers" in town and here is why: His goal is to keep that dog in it's home, to give you the tools to get things done. He does not offer obedience training, you can get that any where. What he offers are the tools to help you properly rehabilitate unwanted behaviors in your dog which will in turn strengthen the bond between you and your dog and ultimately keep your dog in it's home.
