Hello
and welcome to the world of fostering! As most dog
rescue's do, we greatly depend on foster homes to provide love
and security for our furry friends. Most of our rescue
dogs are pulled from a very chaotic shelter environment.
Providing them with a family and stability allows these dogs to
relax and settle in to their true nature. This also allows
us the opportunity to assess their temperament at greater depth
and to figure out what type of home will be suitable for them.
This is a perk in comparison to pulling a shelter dog, you just
never know how a shelter dog is going to react to
certain circumstances until you get them home. With
our dogs in a foster situation, we can answer those questions
before they go to their forever home. Are they good with
kids? Cats? Other dogs? Potty trained?
The foster opportunity allows us assess them individually before
being placed.
Would you like to help in some way but not sure how? You can
foster a dog (or dogs). You will be rewarded with many doggie
kisses! The feeling of helping these guys find someone who will
love them is the reward in itself. We only require that they be
fed a quality dry dog food, are allowed to be indoor/outdoor
dogs with the focus on being part of a family unit and a collar
with identification be kept on the dog at all times (except for
bath time of course!).
We would also like to implement a foster to ownership program.
This is a unique situation in which you can foster a dog until
it is adopted, unless you fall in love and decide to adopt them
yourself. This provides the unique opportunity of getting to
know a dog before you adopt it. After you fill out our
application and are approved as a foster home, we will place a
dog that we feel will be a good match for you. We would like
this dog to stay with you until their forever home comes
around...this can be as few as a couple of days to as much as a
few months. Keep in mind that these guys will become a part of
your family and your pack.
We would love for you to join our pack!

What is required of a foster home?
Feed and water your foster dog
Proved a loving safe environment
for your foster dog
Work with your foster dog as much
as you can on potty training (if needed) and crate training (if needed).
Being a foster home is a strictly
volunteer position but what you are not paid in dollars you are paid in love
from a dog who's life you have forever changed.
